I purchased the book for a course I am taking. Whilst it is a great source of information, it is ironic that, as a book on transcription and the importance of grammar, spelling, etc., it contains quite a few spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. The accompanying CD, which contains various support material, also contains errors and omissions.Graphics are well done and chapter organisation is sensible. Overall, not a bad text if you can overlook the minor errors.

I purchased this textbook for a college course I was taking. I loved the included CD! It had good real life dictation, and transcription exercises. This book gave me some real transcription experience.

I really didn't need the book, just the cd, and the cd was not included.
Do NOT purchase anything for Medical Transcription!! Please!! This is an almost defunct career choice. As a 37+ year veteran in this field, almost every job has been absorbed by the new computer policies of the Obamacare regime. Almost every transcription job has been cut. There are no jobs, so it's not wise to invest in any tools to do this job. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on anything related to this field. It is just about impossible to get a job and there are people with YEARS of experience all over the country who are out of work. I know of one facility that went from 40 transcriptions, down to 3, and that is just one facility!!
