The obvious reason is that we don't want to face the idea that we may need a liver transplant.In the vast majority of cases, people living with hepatitis C will never have to deal with a liver transplant since only a fraction of people with HCV will develop serious liver disease progression leading to the need for a new liver. Part of the problem is that there is very little information out there that is patient friendly. This book is a "must have" for anyone who knows someone negotiating the transplant process...its a user-friendly companion and "safe harbour" for navigating this difficult and sometimes terrifying journey. The information contained is priceless and navigable at ones leisure...this book does not require a set block of time and concentration to read cover to cover formally...it can be picked up and put down at will, its easily approachable and informative in small snippets of time as can be found in waiting rooms, hospital corridors, car rides to and from the many appointments on one's journey to wellness... friends and family have "been there, done that" and traveled the road a bit easier and much more informed and knowledgeable thanks to this book.
